


Freedom Throw

The figure stands at the end of the throw. One arm has gone out with the sling, and the cords still carry a gilded shot at the far end. The other arm comes up to hold the balance.
The maker built the body long, then stripped it back until the muscle read as tension rather than mass. The oxblood patina goes on hot and the maker cuts it back by hand, so the highlights sit where light would fall on a body that has just released.
A sling is the oldest weapon a person can build out of what is lying around. The maker left this figure carrying nothing else.
